It is with profound sadness that I reflect on the passing of former
Mayor and Councilor Ian Brimble. On behalf of Council and the
Village of Vibank, I extend heartfelt sympathies to Ian’s wife Sheila,
his children, and the rest of his family and loved ones.
A Community builder in the truest sense, there are few people who
have contributed as much to the collective spirit and quality of life in
Vibank as Ian. His contributions to the Village span decades,
including 17 years on Council.
During his time on Council, Ian was a strong advocate for water and
sewer system upgrades. Maintenance of the Village was a priority for
Ian and a responsibility he took very seriously. Ian was passionate
about the boiler systems and was proud to have a hand in Vibank
being the first municipally owned child care centre in the Province.
Ian’s dedication to Vibank was exemplary in so many ways, and his
legacy lives on in the places and services he helped shape. I join the
community in mourning the loss of one of Vibank’s most devoted and
thoughtful champions.
