I would like to share a story that was recently shared with me in the interest of community safety. If you have a moment, please give it a read. It could save the life of someone you care about:

“I wanted to pass along a hazard that you may want to share with the community. The snow hills, while a fun place for the children, pose a hazard that parents and children need to be cognizant of. I doubt you will be able to keep all children away from them, but we should pass along the hazard. Yesterday, one of our children got pinned under a very large snow/ice boulder as it become loose on top of a hill and rolled on top of him. The other kids ran and got a nearby adult to help him, but it was too heavy to move and too solid to dig out by hand. The adult called me and I had to run there with a metal shovel and carefully dig around his legs and hips to free him out. Thankfully it only pinned him from the hips down and did not roll onto his upper body and cause asphyxiation. I figured I would pass this along as I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night if something similar/worse happened to another child and I didn’t pass this along to the village.”

Stay safe out there and please stay off of the snow piles.
